Why Ingredients Matter

Why Ingredients Matter

The ingredients that go into your food have the power to make it taste good, feel good, or even be good for you. If you want to learn more about why ingredients matter, then read on!

It's no secret that the ingredients that go into your food can affect your health and while it's easy to get caught up in the marketing hype of a food product, you should never forget that at the core, ingredients are important - they are the building blocks of food; and affect how we feel and how food tastes.

Our food philosophy is simple: we believe that delicious food, made with premium ingredients is better for you. We take the time to carefully select each ingredient and ensure it's of the highest quality before we put it in our cookies. We want our cookies to bring you joy, whether it’s over a coffee with friends or just enjoying a treat on your own – we bake with love and are passionate about making sure our cookies are full of all the good stuff.

The ingredients we chose to put into our cookies reflect this and our first port of call when sourcing ingredients is local. For example, our Peanut Butter Choc Chunk cookies are full of crunchy Pic's Peanut Butter, and our plant based Dark Choc Caramel Popcorn cookies are topped with Sweet As popcorn ... and there are many more! We work with local suppliers to provide us with the freshest ingredients possible.

When you buy from a brand that is dedicated to using local and ethically sourced ingredients, you're supporting the local economy. This means that the money you spend on food goes back into your community instead of being shipped away from it. We've got our eyes on a few new local suppliers that we think will be perfect for our range, so keep your eyes peeled on our platforms - we love to shout out about it and support locals.

It's worth paying a little more for premium quality ingredients with higher nutritional values. You get what you pay for, and when it comes to food, you are what you eat, so why not choose foods that will make you feel good? We believe in using the best ingredients we can find, and we generously cram our cookies full of them.

For the health-conscious consumer, minimally processed foods are often the best choice. This is because they're typically more nutritious and less likely to contain filler ingredients. Minimally processed foods can also be an excellent choice for ethical reasons. If you want your food purchases to reflect your values, then buying minimally processed products is a wonderful way to do that!

We pride ourselves on being food producers, not food manufacturers - and there is a difference. Our cookies are mixed, scooped and batch-made just like you would do at home. We only use real ingredients, like NZ butter, free-range eggs, and premium flour. The Molly Woppy bakery team follow strict hygiene and quality control procedures to ensure our products meet your expectations and are passionate about delivering delicious, quality cookies that you can feel good about eating.

Cookies are a 'sometimes' food but that's why, if you are going to treat yourself, it's better to spend a little bit more to get the premium, scrumptious ones. If you're craving some chocolate chip cookies, just eating ONE of our Milk Choccy Chunks or Chocca Choc Chip cookies will give you far more satisfaction than eating a whole packet of flat, sugar-filled cheaper ones.

We are firm believers that it's OK to have a treat every now and then, and you're not a bad person for wanting something sweet, salty, or crunchy – you shouldn’t feel guilty about eating something delicious.

We hope this blog has helped you gain more understanding of why ingredients should matter to you. As a consumer, it's important to be aware of the products we use and how they affect our health. With so many options available on the market today, it can be difficult to know which ones are right for us - but by paying attention to labels and ingredients lists, we can make informed decisions about what goes into our bodies!
