Outstanding Food Producer Awards 2023

Lauraine Jacobs led a talented team of more than 25 experienced food judges supported by a team of stewards who assessed entries over two days at Auckland’s Homeland restaurant.

“Each year, there is a different trend that becomes very obvious as we work diligently to assess the range of entries. This year judges were excited to see how many producers have taken up the health messages and emphasised this through their food production.”

Our gluten-free, award-winning Choccy Coconut Ruff cookie received a plant-based makeover in 2021, making it the ultimate allergen-friendly treat! If you are looking for that chocolate fix and love coconut, then this is the cookie you want to devour.

What the judges said: "Good chocolatey flavour. Nice to see chunks of chocolate. Lovely crunch".

Specialist sustainability judges Fiona Stephenson and Emily King said, “Most entrants in this category scored well on sustainability. There were a few stand-out entrants, including cereal products and dairy-free alternative options. It’s a notably large category compared to others, which perhaps reflects changing consumer preferences in recent years.”

We've been baking delicious gluten-free allergen-friendly cookies since 2005 and introduced our innovative and delicious plant-based cookies in 2021 as a response to the growing popularity of many people adopting a plant-based diet.

Mindful consumers are aware of the negative effects that animal-based diets can have on the environment and are making more plant-based choices where they can to offset their own carbon footprints. Caring for our planet has never been more important than right now, and we continue to commit to making more sustainable choices throughout our business - and that includes creating innovative and delicious plant-based cookie flavours.

We believe in baking for everyone, no matter what their food preference - so with love, dedication and lots of taste testing we developed our scrumptious range of plant powered cookies - made with love and generously baked with local, ethically sourced vegan ingredients.
